What used to be an old mining area in Colorado Springs was developed into residential housing starting in the early 1950s, and continuing throughout the 1960s and 1970s. The homes in Cragmoor are mostly single level ranch style homes between about 1,000 and 2,000 square feet. In 2019, Cragmoor homes sold between just under $200,000 up to a high of just over $400,000. The average sales price was around $285,000.
With its close proximity to UCCS, Cragmoor homes also make excellent rental properties for investors.

Right down the road from the Cragmoor neighborhood is University Village Center, which has all of your shopping and dining covered.
For fast casual dining, UVC has Chipotle, Noodles and Co, Tokyo Joes, Panera Bread, il Vicino, and Smash Burger.
For a more upscale dining experience, there is Bonefish Grill, Hacienda Colorado, BJ’s Brewhouse, and one of my favorite restaurants, Cowboy Star.
There’s also a huge selection of retail stores, like Costco, Kohls, and Lowes.
You’ll also find specialty shops like Johnannes Hunter Jewelers where my wife and I got our wedding rings, and Christy Sports for you skiers and snowboarders.
